Stonehenge: New Geocentric Hypothesis

One hypothesis of this blog is that Stonehenge was a place designed to be a schematic drawing of the nature of the movement of the heavens from a geocentric perspective (world fixed at centre). A second corollary proposition is that Stonehenge's central monument was designed to recreate and demonstrate the Sun's movement using a geocentric perspective.

These are original, novel and new hypotheses as at February 2012: The hypotheses are not related to the observation of events on the horizon (such as the winter solstice sunset). Version française ici.

The features of this hypothesis appear to exist in each phase of the development at Stonehenge. A motivation might be that Neolithic peoples wished to record their growing understanding of the nature of their Universe.

The coincidences which support this hypothesis are:

1: Stonehenge's grounds and outer markers, every feature, are laid out as an accurate geocentric description of the Universe:
    Evidence

2: The number (and layout) of 'pre-stone' Aubrey Holes (at Stonehenge) is the only suitable number and arrangement to describe geocentric celestial circles at the latitude of Stonehenge:
    Evidence

3: The number and layout of Sarsen Stones in the Phase III ring (at Stonehenge) is the only suitable number, and arrangement, to describe geocentric solar movement:
    Evidence

4: Every other feature of the structure of the Phase III Stonehenge monument appears to be identical to the substructure of a system designed to demonstrate the geocentric movement of the Sun:

5: Neolithic markings within the Stonehenge monument appear to describe the system in 4 above:

6: Other monuments

My thanks to the Skeptics Forum for noting that a hypothesis should be formulated.

  2. Do you believe that the geocentric universe is reality Jon?

I have a research thread here if you are interested in the merits of this position:

  3. All reference-frames are equally valid under General Relativity; it's just the mathematics which have different applications. Some maths are simpler assuming other conditions; for example a heliocentric view works well with the simplified mechanics of Newtonian gravitation. Ultimately no frame of reference has yet been proven to be superior to any other.

Because the human race is typically at rest relative to the world, the world is fixed relative to the view from our rest frame.

So one argument is that the frame of reference most relevant to a human observer is the geocentric one. Other arguments are possible but depend on the speaker's understanding of the meaning of the words used.

This site isn't supposed to be theological though, so that's about the limit of my contribution! :-)

    1. Real scientific evidence seem to have disporoved the validity of a non geocentric rest frame position.

Evidence from cosmic background raditation (CBR) studies seem to show a centrality of the Earth with relation to the largest visible structure in the universe.

From the paper – “Why is the Solar System Cosmically Aligned?”

      LINK: http://www-personal.umich.edu/~huterer/PRESS/CMB_Huterer.pdf

“Developing the multi- pole vectors allowed us to examine how the CMB’s large-scale features align with each other and the ecliptic — the plane of Earth’s orbit around the Sun.”

Obviously, in the geocentric model, simply reverse the position of the words “Earth” and “Sun” in the above sentence.

Other studies have shown a general concentricity of galaxy structures around Earth.

    2. The upcoming movie The Principle will be a real cosmological game changer. It will put forth astounding and greatly cumulative and convincing evidence indicating the centrality of the Earth in the universe. This should really set the Copernican Principle on its head.as it leads the way for a major paradigm shift in the way most of view the universe and our place in it.

  4. On a recent airplane flight my body sensed the slightest deviation from constant, straight-line motion.

Earth is revolving, orbiting the sun in a spinning galaxy. The galaxy is orbiting the local cluster of galaxies which are orbiting the super cluster of galaxies in the accelerated expansion of space. We are accelerating and moving ~2,000,000 mph in a curved path.

What law of physics exempts a sleeping chicken balanced on one foot from falling over? Is there the slightest possibility that Earth is stationary?

Also, time-delay photos of stars at the north and south pole form perfect arcs. If Earth was orbiting the sun at 67,000 mph, the arcs would be extremely distorted.
